Three half-burned filets later, Trey informed me that steaks are best cooked with indirect heat. Not, apparently, over the hottest part of the coals like I thought. Surprisingly they weren't completely ruined (I remembered to go flip them before they were torched, and this is when I discovered the searing burn that had taken place).
Thankfully, my kind husband still voted the meal a success. I also served sauteed fresh green beans and red potatoes roasted with rosemary. We didn't have any leftovers.
Of course, that is not the kind of meal that you want leftovers from. It's hard to rewarm a steak without losing the fresh-cooked steaky goodness. Trey made some fantastic jambalaya on Saturday, though. That is the type of meal you want lots of leftovers from because it keeps getting better. We froze half of it because I thought it'd be wise to save some food for after baby meals, but I'm not sure it's going to last that long. I already want to get it out.
It's pretty wonderful to have a husband who is willing to cook (and clean! he helped me so much with dishes this week I felt like a slacker) and is very good at it.

Yes, Trey is helpful. How is the heat/pregnancy? So many hate the last month when pregnant, but I bet you're doing just fine with it.
If you were a gambling man, you'd have some money. I am still feeling very well. Of course, I keep slowing down, and the bigger the tummy gets, the more challenging it is to maneuver it. We just laugh a lot. And I'm very thankful for air conditioning!
