The craziest things happen.
Mom was cooking lunch, and she and Dad heard a crash--like a crash when a bird hits the window.
Thirty minutes later, Mom and I were eating at the dining room table, gazing out the window to the wonderfully green trees and bright sunshine (May is a lovely month). Our picturesque view was momentarily distracted by an object in proximity--on the window, as a matter of fact. Um, what did our wondering eyes behold? Was it a splattered bug? Was it a clod of mud thrown from the street? Was it... yes, it was... BIRD POO!
So that bird must have had quite a scare when he found himself face to face with glass rather than an enemy. Scared something right out of him.
This wasn't the most appetizing way to enjoy a meal, but it was entertaining.

Now, that's what I call entertainment! Your family somehow has the greatest stories. : )
A friend of mine saw a pigeon fly into a dark window (not a transparent one) at such a high speed that it instantly killed it. There was pigeon goo splattered on the window where the bird hit too, and the pigeon lay right beneath it.
I ran across a great quote today:
"God is no fonder of intellectual slackers than He is of any other slacker." c.s. lewis. Anyhow, I thought instantly of all my friends who appreciate and display intellectual NON-slackage - you being a prime one.
love.
We have a cardinal who every day does battle with his enemy (himself) in the window of our workshop. He hit the window twicw and usually on the second sortee him plummets to the ground and stumbles dazed for a few seconds. He flies off defeated once again but always returns usually in an hour or so ready to challenge his foe again. We have tried to cover the window so he wouldn't attack his reflection but so far nothing has been permanently effective. I suppose I need to nail up a sheet but it would really look funny. Would a plastic owl work?
uncle jim, maybe you should just let natural selection take its course and weed that one out ...
Bird poo, I have a large splatter on my windshield.
